Welcome to the fun of hand carved stamps!
Create your own unique stamps with Kyla and explore options for printing these relief blocks on various paper, cards and tags.
In this 3 hour class you will learn how to transfer your design, what kind of materials you can use, tool selection, how to carve a relief stamp and ways to print these unique and infinitely useful little creations.
You will also learn mounting options, explore different inks and printing methods including the Woodzilla relief press. You will learn techniques for printing at home.
You will leave the class with:
hand carved stamps to use again at home
hand printed gift tags, cards and bookmarks
a stamp to print your own wrapping paper
tips, tricks, supplier advice and notes
some new creative buddies!
This is the perfect skill to learn for all of your card making and gift giving needs.
All tools and materials supplied. Light refreshments provided.
Bio
Exploring the endlessly fascinating and varied medium of printmaking for over 30 years, Kyla relishes the opportunity to introduce it to others through her Little Prints Printmaking workshops. Kyla’s background includes directing a works on paper gallery, art curation, tutoring and other work in the arts sector. Working from her home studio in Ōtepoti Dunedin, Kyla’s practice encompasses drypoint, mezzotint and embossing.
