WORKSHOP – Rug Hooking

Suitable for beginners!
Come and learn the traditional craft of rug hooking using recycled fabrics. All tools and materials will be provided.
The technique is quite simple, but some hand strength is required.
We will be using the basic rug hooking technique to make an item of your choice - small floor mat, pillow cover, wall hanging, tea cosy…you decide!
Workshop will cover:
· setting up hessian backing on hooking frame
· practicing with different yarns/fabrics to achieve different effects/textures
· planning your project, transferring design onto backing, start hooking!
· final class will cover finishing techniques
There is a space of 3 weeks between 2nd and 3rd class. This will allow time to work on the project at home before the last class.
