Story First: Making Sales Part of the Process
6-8 pm, Wednesday 17th July
Most artists wait until a piece or collection is finished before they begin to talk about it, which means the offer often arrives without context or momentum. In this workshop, we shift the pattern of sales as an add on and look at how story can be woven through the making process itself.
We will explore how to narrate a body of work as it develops so that people feel invited into the evolution rather than presented with a finished piece for purchase that emerges out of nowhere. This includes understanding what to share during the process, what to hold back, and how to allow your thinking, decisions, experiments, and refinements to become part of the connection.
We’ll play with a clear storytelling arc to accompany your sales, along with a practical framework for sharing your process as you go.
Each workshop will have a follow up session where we can implement what was discussed in the workshop.
These workshops are free- fully funded by the DCC - to apply please fill out this form, once for the whole series is enough!
