$180. All materials and equipment provided.
This is a practical paint-making course that covers the technical aspects of making a watercolour paint, the practical and cultural considerations of pigments and testing your paint’s characteristics. Be prepared to mull your own paint by hand!
Part 1 is a full day course learning to first make watercolour binder then watercolour paints in English Red, Italian Yellow Ochre, Burnt Umber and Grape Seed Black.
At the end of the day you’ll:
- Have a travel tin of four hand-mulled watercolour paints
- Be able to create your own watercolour binder
- Know how to make your own watercolour paints from dry pigments
