A lightning fast introduction to embossing for student aged creatives!
In this class you will hand carve your own block and explore the beautiful, subtle art of embossing paper with the aid of an etching press. Experience the shadow play of embossed and debossed images. Learn how you can combine this with colour, which tools to use, trouble shooting tips.
All materials and tools are supplied and you will take home your block and printed embossings. You will be given class handouts on the process and a list of suppliers.
Afternoon tea is provided.
Kyla Cresswell is an Ōtepoti Dunedin based artist who has a love of intaglio printmaking techniques and the rich and varied processes of this discipline.
* We will be using linocutting tools which are sharp - but with the aid of a bench hook to reduce risk of slips.
