Featured artist - Kylie Dirks

Kylie Dirks is an Otepoti based maker with a passion for all things textile. Kylie is a graduate of Otago’s Fashion and Design programme and worked in the fashion industry after graduating. Kylie comes from a long line of makers, and following a chance meeting with a Korean quilter in Fiji, her love of hand stitching was reignited by the beauty and gentleness of sewing by hand. Kylie loves to inspire people to hand stitch, drawing on classic techniques in a more relaxed and free-form way.
